Transmission System :-

The whole system by the help of which the power of the engine is transmitted from engine crankshaft to the rear wheel is called transmission system. Various unit of transmission are :-
                   :- Clutch .
                   :- Gear box .
                   :- Propeller shaft .
                   :- Differential .
                   :- Rear axil .
                   :- Rear wheel .

Clutch :-

:- It is a unit of transmission system it is fitted in between engine and gearbox .
:- The main function of clutch is that it engage and disengage the power from engine to gearbox as per the requirement.

Gearbox :-

:- It is a unit of transmission system it is fitted in clutch and propeller shaft .
:- The main function of gearbox is that by keeping the engine speed constant it vary the vehicle speed as per the requirement .

Propeller shaft :-

:- It is a unit of transmission system it is fitted in gearbox and differential .

Differential :-

:- It is a unit of transmission system . The the need of  differential is to help the vehicle when it takes torque .

Rear axle :-

An axle is a central shaft for a rotating wheel or gear. On wheeled vehicles, the axle may be fixed to the wheels, rotating with them, or fixed to the vehicle, with the wheels rotating around the axle. In the former case, bearings or bushings are provided at the mounting points where the axle is supported

Rear wheel :-

Rear-wheel drive is a form of engine and transmission layout used in motor vehicles, where the engine drives the rear wheels only. Until the late 20th century, rear-wheel drive was the most common configuration for cars. Most rear-wheel drive vehicles feature a longitudinally mounted engine at the front of the car.
