INTRODUCTION.
A shaper is used to generate flat surface by using a single point cutting tool.
The shaper Machine is a reciprocating type of machine tool in which the RAM moves the cutting tool forward & backward in stregth line
Workpiece is held in a vice clamped over the Wark table.
DIFFERENT PARTS OF SHAPER MACHINE.
(1) BAS.
It is the necessary requirement of all machine tool.
It is so desined that it can tak up the entire load of the machine and the forces setup by the cutting tool over the workpiece .
It is made of cast iron to resist the vibration.
(2) Column.
The column box like casting mounted upon the bas .
(3) Crossrail.
It is two parallel guideways on it's top of the vertical plane that are perpendicular to the ram.
The table may be raised ar lower to hold the different types of job by rotating the elevating screw which causes the crossrail to slide up and down on the vertical.
(4) Shaddle.
It is mounted on the crossrail which holds the table on it's top .
Crosswise movement of the Shaddle causes the work table to move sideways.
(5) Table.
It is bolted on the Shaddle this is crosswise and vertical movement of from shaddle and crossrail.
It is box like casting having T-slod both on the top and sides for clamping the work
(6) RAM.
It is the reciprocating member of the shaper .
It is located on the top of the column.
It slide along the guideways on the top of the column and is connected to the reciprocating mechanism contained within the column .
(7) Tool head.
Tool head is a divice which hold the cutting tool it can slide up & down and down Sewing to desired angle to sade tool at a desired position of the operation.
